*** funny backstory ***

Long before I dreamt of this climb…
I was in REI, in the shoe department, evaluating merino socks. Out of nowhere some dude behind me says
“I hiked Mount Kilimanjaro in those.”
I was a little confused because I
didn’t ask.

When he walked away, it occurred to me that I could hike Mount Kilimanjaro.

And a year later I did.
